Two Black women's hands as one places a beautiful gold locket into the other's open cupped hands.

You've got to get your situation into the right hands. Not the hands of every well-meaning person with an opinion, and not some borrowed strategy that was never the source. Your promise belongs cleaved to God Himself.

Let me ask you a hard one before we go another sentence. When your situation is on the line, whose hands do you actually run to first?

Because most of us say God, but our phone records tell on us. We text five friends, we drop it in the group chat, we ask everybody and their mama what they think, and we call that seeking counsel. Some of that's fine. But some of the folks you're handing your promise to, and I'm going to say this the way I'd say it live, they ain't got no nickel in that quarter. They can't fix it. They were never supposed to.

The Staff Didn't Work

When that boy died, Elisha first sent his servant Gehazi ahead with the prophet's staff to lay on the child. Good intention. Wrong hands. The staff did nothing, because a borrowed tool isn't the same as the presence of God. The situation didn't respond to a representative. It needed the real thing.

So who's Gehazi in your world? Whose hands have you been putting your future in that were never able to carry it? The mentor, the man, the money, the plan, the platform. None of that is evil. It's just not the source.

What Does It Look Like to Stay in the Right Hands?

The Shunammite woman figured this out. She wouldn't take the staff and she wouldn't go home. She planted herself on that prophet and refused to move. 2 Kings 4:30 (NKJV) says, "And the mother of the child said, 'As the Lord lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you.' So he arose and followed her."

I will not leave you. That's a woman who learned the difference between a helper and the Healer. She stayed cleaved to the presence, not the assistant. And notice, she took her real, unfiltered pain straight to the man of God and nowhere else. She didn't spill it to people who could only stand around and watch. She poured it out where it could actually get answered.

Quit putting your promise in everybody's hands. Put it in God's.

Take this to the Word yourself. 2 Kings 4:29-31, Proverbs 3:5-6, Psalm 62:8.

What This Means for You

Name one thing you've been handing to people who can't heal it. What would it look like to take it straight to God instead?

Yesterday we surrendered the dead thing and spoke life over it. Today we got it into the right hands. Next up, we watch what God does with a situation that's fully surrendered and fully in His grip, because resurrection is where this whole thing has been heading.
